Charity, so they say, begins at home, and that is as it should be. We live in what was once called a land of plenty. Times change, but while we were truly the land of plenty we looked about the world and saw others less fortunate than we. Being a prosperous people, a compassionate people, indeed a benevolent people we took on the burden of removing all the misfortunes of the human race and making the world a better place for all.
Something has gone dreadfully wrong while we were engaged in our humanitarian efforts. Most of the people we have been helping hate us and due to our efforts to aid them, the unappreciative, American wealth is dissipating at an alarming rate!
The Obama administration has several interesting ways of dealing with crisis: First and foremost they try to take advantage of a bad situation by using it as an excuse for a new power grab. Failing that they feel no remorse from lying about it, ignoring it, or delaying the release of data thus minimizing its political impact. It is now 2012 and they are just releasing information that reveals that American wealth between 2007 and 2010 fell by forty percent. How much did it fall by 2011? That statistic has been delayed, and if it is ever released, they will probably blame George Bush.
The image above published in the Sydney Morning Herald is heart wrenching. No compassionate human being wants this to happen to any child anywhere in the world. It may sound heartless, but I will not hesitate to say that I would rather know that this is happening in a far off land than to see it in the homes of America, and that is the direction we are heading. In the quest for "Social Justice" America is being driven to the status of a third world economy.
Have you ever watched a snowball roll downhill growing larger as it tumbles downward? Picture that same snowball rolling from the top of a tall mountain. Long before it ever reaches the snowline it will have started an avalanche that destroys all in its path. We are now in the path of that political avalanche, and the destruction it brings is of our own making.
Many generations ago dedicated missionaries sailed forth in an effort to bring the message of Christianity to people in far off lands. This is as it should be for this is a task Jesus set for his followers, as he knew that Rome would do nothing to help the downtrodden. Well, Rome has fallen, two thousand years have passed, and Christians have built great nations while the rest of the world lagged behind.
There is nothing in this world that cannot be abused, and that includes benevolence. Those original missionaries returned home with stories, photos, and film clips of the horrors endured by those of other cultures. The information they brought back with them was widely distributed and Americans, English, French, and others looked down into their souls and dug deep into their pockets. Through their generosity, food, money, products and life giving medicines of the West began making their way to those less fortunate. Then, the aforementioned abuse began. Government intervention began supplanting the role of a generous people!
When a citizen donates to help those less fortunate than he then it is an act of kindness and charity. When a government starts using tax money to finance such ventures it is a redistribution of wealth. It then becomes theft and generosity all rolled into one package, and we call it Foreign Aid.
It is made to sound like such a noble cause and they really get citizens hooked by showing horror pictures of primitive living conditions and starving children. Meanwhile, the perpetrators hide the costs of Senators and Congressmen and their fact finding junkets. Naturally they have to rent expensive office space in the nation's capitol for the ever growing collection of bureaucrats and their staffs. Without fail there is corruption. Scamming, scheming, and cronyism are all part of the picture, and that is only on this end.
When donations to help the unfortunate went to faith based groups most of the donations reached those who needed help the most. The living expenses for the missionaries and shipping costs for medical supplies, food, etc naturally had to be deducted but, by and large, the needy received the lion's share of what was meant for them. Now, under government supervision things changed. It is no longer dedicated missionaries living in a village and helping their fellow man in the backyard of nowhere. Now foreign aid goes to foreign governments and they too must have their share of bureaucrats and rented buildings and scams, schemes, and cronyism.
The best of intentions will be corrupted by a government and the problem grows exponentially worse when two or more governments are involved. The problem is naturally worsened when our tax dollars are routed through the United Nations, the biggest bureaucracy of all. By the time those charitable funds are routed through so many looters, and so many get their hand into the cookie jar, there no cookies left for those who need it.
In a way I hate quoting Jeremiah Wright, but in this instance it is appropriate. He stated that the chickens are coming home to roost and indeed they are. New executive orders, new scams, and new bureaucracies are coming into existence every day. As our economy tanks the bureaucrats flourish, and the floundering people expected to pay an unpayable bill are the American taxpayers.

Certainly the most abused on that list are those who fall victims to the violent crimes committed by those who have crossed our borders in no way prepared to assume a productive role in our society. Taxpayers are without a doubt the largest group as they must bear the burden of the cost of feeding and providing medical care for illegal aliens as well as the costs of housing the worst offenders in prison, and footing the bill for educational benefits to those who have no right to be within our borders.
Recently the Denver Post displayed this headline:
"Metro State College of Denver OKs tuition cut for illegal immigrants"
Excerpt: "The new rate, which will go into effect this fall, is $3,358 per semester, which is higher than in-state student, who pay $2,152, and lower than out-of-staters, who pay $7,992."
Something is wrong with this picture. A legal American citizen who is living just across a state line has to pay more than twice as much for an education as does someone from a foreign nation who is here in violation of our federal laws. Political correctness has overwhelmed sanity in recent years, and if anyone dares to complain about this then he is labeled a "Racist!"
Americans, legal ones, are losing the right to protest government controls. The guarantees of free speech in the First Amendment are being eroded into antiquated jargon, and that is why so many are clinging so desperately to the Second Amendment, the last hope of a great nation that is under perpetual attack from so very many forces.
Providing for others as Americans begin doing without is totally illogical. Providing free or discounted services to those who are in our homeland illegally while we pay full price is not only beyond reason, it is immoral. Shifting the cost of this administration's wild spending spree to future generations should be regarded as a criminal act and it perpetrators imprisoned alongside those illegal aliens who have robbed and killed so many of our fellow citizens.
If I were to ask all of America, "What is a life worth?" No one could give a truly comprehensive answer. Let us compound the incomprehensible by asking "What is four thousand three hundred and eighty lives worth?" Excerpt: "Twelve Americans are murdered every day by illegal aliens, according to statistics released by Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa. If those numbers are correct it translates to 4,380 Americans murdered annually by illegal aliens."
While I am asking question, here is a winner for you. When were Americans forgotten? When did we cease to be individuals, people, citizens and become mere statistics and potential votes? The primary purpose of government is to provide for the common defense and yet I feel defenseless under the umbrella of government safety. They prove daily that a vote, any vote, even an illegal vote, is more important than I am, and so many of my fellow conservatives choose to blame Obama. It is not Obama, it is the government as a whole.
I no longer watch Bill O'Reilly, for that matter I no longer watch Fox News, but before Obama was ever elected Mister O'Reilly made a pertinent observation. He stated that if the illegal immigrant problem is not brought under control, the Republican Party will cease to exist. He was correct. The GOP is dead. In the pursuit of votes it has moved so far to the left that its platform now resembles what used to be the ideology of the Democratic Party. The Dems meanwhile have pole vaulted, to quote Nancy Pelosi, so far to the left that they have abandoned all that was once American.
We, the American people, no longer matter. For the sake of political expediency we have been forgotten.

This is the great conundrum of our time. The Republican Party, by allowing millions of illegals to enter the country, has doomed itself. There's no way to turn of the spigot of entitlements or close the border without alienating the Hispanic vote. You could take this further when we look at tax revenues and only 50 percent of the population pays federal taxes.
The country has a torn financial artery and is bleeding to death in debt. But there's no tourniquet that can be applied without severe consequences. Our borders are wide open and we're being invaded stoplight by stoplight and street by street.
And our government stands by, idle in its duties; neglectful at best, treasonous at its worst.
And now the government has absolute power to do whatever it wants with Obamacare. The states are nothing more than appendages of federal monster whose appetite knows no bounds.
You talk about the spirit of 1776? Where is their spirit now? Is it still with us?
You may disagree but we need a battle of Concord, a Bunker Hill. The federal government has abdicated it duties and The Supreme Court has sanctioned its thirst for unlimited power with a decision every bad as Dred Scott.
And if what you say is true--that the Republican Party is dead--than we no longer have a voice or a say in our government. What choice do we have left?
"What choice do we have left?" You have already answered that, another Concord or Bunker Hill, only this time it may be called the Battle of DC or the Battle of The Lincoln Monument.
There are no other options!
