FREEDOM RINGS 1776 is a conservative voice, defending the views of those who still believe in the constitution and opposing any and all who would lead us from our tried and true beliefs. We who still believe in the spirit of 1776 must oppose anyone who would set this nation on a course that will fundamentally transform America.

REALITY ALLOWS FOR NO WIGGLE ROOM

Aristotle once framed the most brief, eloquent, and enduring bit of logic mankind has yet known. He stated that "A is A". Simply explained ... Reality is what it is and there is absolutely no wiggle room. In the thousands of years since he phrased his wisdom, many millions, perhaps billions have have attempted to alter, evade, or defy the existence of "A". All have failed miserably.

Anyone who chooses to write wants his or her words to be read by others. This is a given. I write about controversial issues that are often dismal and I do not expect everyone to agree with me. The one thing that troubles me, and I have encountered it frequently, is a reader's comment something to the effect of  "I agree with you wholeheartedly...BUT..." The person leaving the comment then proceeds to look for a new place to express wishful thinking, find loopholes in logic, and a way around the reality we face. That is an exercise in futility. A is A and the person who chooses to ignore that fact is walking into a trap that he himself has baited.

It matters not where you look today, people are choosing denial over reality. That is due perhaps to the fact that we have for so long been surrounded by the surreal world of liberals, and now our modern day reality has become so intolerable. Hussein of the White House is in denial over  the economic conditions we as Americans face, and the fact that he is responsible. Liberals have their own flavor of denial in such issues as global warming, green energy, freedom of speech for them but not us, the beauty of multiculturalism and open borders. Some of these points are not so much denial as are they blatant lies, but the results remain the same. They all lead to the decline of our homeland.

Many conservative seek a fantasy world as well. Two or three days a week I receive a new "Impeach Obama" petition. A total waste of time and digital memory. The RNC put forth their Golden Boy with feet of clay. The rallying cry among conservative was "Stop Romney". He was not stopped. Now they write comments that almost sound like a prayer, hoping  that he will forsake Progressivism and become as one of us. Don't hold your breath. Other prayer like comments hope for a better Congress and a better Senate. Another waste of time and memory. Crack smokers and welfare recipients will still vote themselves a slice of your pie. They like their Reps in DC and they vote early and often.

My favorite clip of wishful thinking is an all encompassing vision with a slight touch of realism. There is a highly detailed wish list that admits Romney is not quite what we want so we hold his feet to the fire(Like we have been doing with Obama) and tolerate the Mitt for four years, then in 2016 we will get a really good conservative candidate for President and a whole slew of really good conservatives running for Congress and the Senate and when we get all of the good things all at once, then things will get better

If given to wishful thinking you may as well latch onto "All of the above".Nothing like a package deal.

Lies and distortions have become so commonplace that I have reached the point of no longer expecting to hear the truth. It matters not if a statement comes from a politician, a banker, a civil rights leader, or a thief. All are peddling an agenda, and one way or the other we, the unconsulted, must pay for it in the end. Yes, I must confess! I have become very skeptical of my fellow man, but never until this Age of Obama has such skepticism been so necessary as a means of self defense.

Some fifty years ago I had the good fortune of having a Civics teacher that gifted me with a love of history and of country. I have never, nor will I ever, forsake the principals born of that man's teachings. Many years have come and gone since I saw him last, and in this nation so very many things have changed for the worst. Moral rot, the stepchild of Progressivism, has managed to permeate every facet of our reality from education, to politics, to the business world, to our media and even to our churches, and that moral rot has taken a terrible toll on a mighty nation.

Progressivism reached a climax in 2008 and ushered in the next grand plateau in our escape from reality. The American people were allowed a choice of a continuation of the Progressive agenda under John McCain or an Islamic messiah named Hussein Obama. They opted for the messiah, who came forth bearing Marxism, gift wrapped in a colorful package inscribed "Hope and Change". Most did not notice the small print at the time but there under the brightly colored ribbons was the word "Transformation", and since then we have been transformed. Since the onslaught of the Marxists, so many Americans are in shock, confusion, and panic, and in their suffering they seek the soft warm comfort of living in denial and hoping for a new messiah, and Mitt Romney is applying for the job.

I bring these issues up for today my writing must change. I have long been engaged in a futile effort of trying to wake people up. Any that are not awake by now are either brain dead or have joined those fools in history who have tried to outsmart Aristotle's premise and evade the fact that A is still A. I have read essays, comments, and articles reposted by others celebrating a better tomorrow, and I am frequently torn between the urge to laugh and another urge to feel pity for those who choose false hope over a fearful reality. I give in to neither urge, as to laugh would be unseemly, and I have no time to pity those who prefer not to know. There are none so blind as those who choose to see not.

I look unto the pages of history and behold those nations that crumbled under the unbearable weight of their people who had succumbed to their own weakness long before the city walls were ever breached by the invaders. Those people lost their dream, forsook their responsibilities, worshiped the frivolous, and chose wishful thinking and denial over the harsh reality that was crashing about them. History is repeating itself, and history, Aristotle, and an unforgiving truth are all harsh taskmasters.

This nation, as it stands, is finished, and that brings tears to my eyes, but it is a fact. Ben Franklin told us that we had a Republic and added ... if we can keep it. We have failed miserably. We are no longer a nation of laws. We are now living under the changing whims of men. Chief Justice Roberts, in his act of betraying the American public, drove the fatal dagger into the heart of Liberty, and even fellow conservatives celebrated this as a victory over Obama. Now there is nowhere to go but down, but if they follow the same brand of logic applied to the Supreme Court vote, they will rationalize that our fall is a great leap forward.

Romney promises that if you elect him that his first act will be to sign an Executive Order eliminating ObamaCare. He will not, he cannot, but supposing he does. What has happened to America when we trade one king for another? What has become of the rule of law? My wishful thinking conservative friends are so ready to accept Romney ruling by executive fiat while complaining that it is illegal for Obama to do so. This is where Progressives, such as Mitt Romney have brought us. Out of the frying pan, into the fire, and back into the frying pan.

But, remember the Buzz Words ... "Anyone but Obama." Remember also a fact from history: Leaders do not willingly give up power, and thanks to the recent Marxist power grabs, whoever is elected in 2012 has total control over the life of Americans who once were proud to be free.

It matters not who claims the crown in November. Those willing to be led will follow a Marxist or a Progressive and they will witness the ultimate collapse of a once great nation. Those who refuse to be led will be the ones to build a new America. They will see and taste the ashes of what once was. They will look to our nation's Capitol and recall the mighty men of days gone by and how they looted wealth from those who produced and gave the bounty to the undeserving. They will look upon a fallen world that has no bounty left to redistribute. They will know hunger and deprivation, and it is they, the New Americans, who will build a second Republic, and those who indulge in wishful thinking will go along for the benefits.

Soon, either a Marxist or a Progressive will stand before us dangling a carrot while offering to lead us to a brave new world. I have three problems with that vision: I don't like Marxists, I don't like Progressives, and I don't like carrots.

In short, I don't want to go.

Danny,

One of your best blogs yet. This election is a joke, a farce, and I'm absolutely astonished that people on the right don't see it.

"Anybody but Obama," is their rallying cry but like you said: we're trading one king for another.

The Constitutional amendment process has been turned on its head by judicial fiat and The executive branch is QBing the country now with congress as nothing more than a spectator in the stands, cheering along, rah, rah, as it loses power and becomes increasingly marginalized.

The debt ceiling debate will probably be front and center before the election. I put money on it that Obama will raise the debt ceiling by executive order, bypassing congress and the American people yet again.

It's the economy that is holding this deeply fragmented nation together. Were in too deep economically speaking. Obama wants the collapse and all Romney can do is kick the can down the road. The day the rest of the economy goes these divisions in our country will make themselves quite plain for all to see.

I hope at that point these fanciful, deluded dreamers on the right will finally see for the very first time that collaboration with the Marxist/progressive beast is the same as surrender; that liberty must be defended and fought for with buckets of blood.
