RESTORING AMERICA

FREEDOM RINGS 1776 is a conservative voice, defending the views of those who still believe in the constitution and opposing any and all who would lead us from our tried and true beliefs. We who still believe in the spirit of 1776 must oppose anyone who would set this nation on a course that will fundamentally transform America.

WHY ISRAEL BACKED DOWN...BE PATIENT

Politics, especially international politics, is always a game of high stakes poker, and no gambler is ever going to fold when he is holding a straight flush, unless there is a gun pointed at his head or someone has offered him a deal he can't turn down. So I believe it was with Netanyahu and this recent "understanding" with Israel, Hamas, and Egypt, and the invisible player ... Obama.

Nothing seems right about it. The whole deal is a win-win for Hamas and Egypt and a lose-lose for Israel, and yet the deal was cut. There must be a reason. Bibi did not give away the store for nothing. Israel had disrupted its own economy by pulling so many reservists off of their jobs and placing them at the Gaza border. It was a done deal. Hamas was going going to be crushed and even most of Netanyahu's detractors were behind him on this. Rockets landing in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem cannot be tolerated. Then at the last moment, the whole plan was scrapped, giving Hamas bragging rights of victory. Something simply does not make sense, until you add the Obama factor ... The Joker in the deck.

One Israeli military commander addressed his men and women in uniform and told them that as they crossed into Gaza to take one look back to see what they were fighting for and then look ahead to their destiny in Gaza. Now many of those troops are calling Netanyahu a loser, and I don't believe he is. Benjamin Netanyahu is first and foremost an Israeli patriot, and something transpired between him and Obama that changed the course of history. Such deals are made behind closed door and there is no evidence but what that deal was will soon be revealed. I can only speculate at the moment but I shall show a few possibilities here.

First off, I am convinced that Hussein Obama, with his devotion to George Soros and the Muslim Brotherhood, has a long range goal of destroying Israel, but he knows that the time is not right, and so he is willing to negotiate, hoping for better options in the future.

The toppling of the Mubarak regime was Obama's first great international triumph. Destroying an American ally and placing that country into the hands of the MB, was a feather in his Muslim hat, but now he sees that Egypt is facing serious problems. The fear of Islam has virtually killed the tourist trade that once supported Egypt and that shaky nation is now totally dependent on foreign military and financial support, and its gunrunning business with Hamas.

Putting Morsi into the absurd position of final arbiter for Hamas and Israeli problems brings no hope of resolution of said problems but it gives great credibility to this Muslim thug, and now but a few days later, Morsi claims total power over Egypt, overturning all of its courts. This power grab had to be approved by Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton. Morsi, dependent on the U.S., would not have dared make such a move without their approval.

The Muslims of Hamas would surely find my description of events distasteful but Obama just saved their bacon. They will pay for this saving grace by many of them having to join the forces in Syria who are engaged in the overthrow of Assad. It is there that they will pay for the bragging rights that Israel backed down before them.

And what does Netanyahu gain from agreeing to this one sided understanding with the MB? That is where it gets complicated because there is much that Israel wants. What did Obama offer or hold over Bibi's head to get him to sign on to such a deal? There are many possibilities but consider their foremost problem ... Iran. Netanyahu would gladly forego the immediate victory over Hamas if Obama agreed to join in the attack on the Iranian nuclear structure or at a minimum provide the bunker busting bombs that they lack.

Were I in Netanyahu's shoes I would gladly allow Hamas to live to fight another day in order to guarantee that Tel Aviv would not be vaporized next year. Not a bad trade off in my humble opinion.

Then there is the Palestinian effort to be recognized as a sovereign state by the UN. Obama has it within his power to either allow or prevent this occurance. If they are granted full statehood then the PA will be granted a vote in the UN, and if Israelis jets were to enter their legitimate airspace to assault rocket launchers firing on Israel it would be much harder for the Jewish state to justify its actions.

Add to the equation that  Obama can either increase, decrease, or totally terminate financial and military aid to Israel. There is much that he can threaten Israel with, but the greatest is R2P. Most of my regular readers are familiar with R2P, but for those who are not I shall present a brief explanation:.

The Responsibility To Protect is a George Soros doctrine designed by one of his NGOs named the International Crisis Group.(See Soros and Egypt below in Suggested Reading). R2P is a doctrine developed to call on NATO to suppress any nation that Soros wishes overthrown. It was enacted with great success in Libya by setting up a no fly zone, thus effectively grounding Qaddafi's Air Force and allowing Al Qaeda(Civilians, according to the doctrine) to advance largely unimpeded. John McCain has been calling for the same tactic to be employed in Syria but Russia's involvement has so far prevented this occurance.

Hamas and their allies, our main stream media, has been showing a lot of photos of children killed in the Syrian struggle and claiming those images portray children in Gaza killed by the Israeli Air Force. I find it to be unlikely that Obama is threatening to use R2P against Israel in their assault on Hamas, but not totally out of the question. It would not be at all difficult to crank up the propaganda mills to turn the American public against Israel for committing atrocities against the innocent.

One day George Soros would love to see the nations of Islam strengthened, united, and attacking Israel. This is when he would choose to employ R2P, but the time is not yet what they seek. Right now Islam is weak, disorganized, and fighting among themselves, and those who pull strings bide their time, even to the point of being willing to work with Israel at the moment so that they may destroy the Jewish state later.

Meanwhile, Israel has joined into what appears to be a losing proposition, and I cannot help but believe that Benjamin Netanyahu is a better chess player than to be so easily disarmed. He backed off for a reason and that reason will enhance Israel's long term security. I have presented a variety of possibilities above and were I to hazard a guess as to which one swayed Netanyahu it would be Iran and an enhanced capability to destroy its nuclear pursuits.

There are many gambits in play here. Bibi is working toward the security of the nation he leads. Obama is trying to buy time for the Muslim Brotherhood to develop stability among its ranks. We have all heard about so many things that Obama wanted to delay until after his election. Knowing that he is on the side of Islam they felt empowered when his victory was announced. Immediately after the election Hamas begins to bombard Israel relentlessly, expecting other Arab nations to follow suit. They miscalculated. None are stable enough or strong enough to confront Israel.

The foolhardiness of Hamas almost spelled their demise, but Obama wants them around, forever a thorn in Israel's side, one day to be used as cannon fodder in what he hopes will be the downfall of that nation. Hamas was about to be destroyed and so Obama, or I should say his go betweens, stepped in with an offer to save them for another day. They will rebuild and Netanyahu knows this. It would have been to Israel's advantage to enact a full scale assault on Gaza, annex the border adjoining the Sinai and forever end the flow of arms through that myriad of tunnels. Not yet!

Obama will continue with foreign aid to Gaza that will allow them to buy more arms from the gunrunners of Libya, Egypt, the Sudan, and Iran. What we have recently seen will be reenacted one day and Bibi knows it well. Hamas will once again raise its evil head and the next time the IDF will crush it.

If I am correct in the above assumptions then for the moment, in a game of cat and mouse, Netanyahu must look weak, even to his own people. That is a role that must not be easy for a man such as he, but a necessary deception in the long run. Now, were I to project a strike time on Iran it would be within the next six or seven weeks. It has to be before Israel's election to guarantee that public dissatisfaction, which is a necessary trade off at the moment, does not cause a liberal appeaser to step into Bibi's shoes. That would be the end of Israel.

Until then have faith in Benjamin Netanyahu. The man plays a mean game of chess!

Brilliant take on what has transpired, Danny. It all seems very logical to me as I share your views on Bibi, and the character of this man.

Brewer55, in many of my essays dealing with very serious subjects I have written that I hope that I am mistaken in my projections. In this instance I pray that I am right because if I am wrong and Obama is wielding something that cowers Netanyahu then we are in even greater danger than I suspect.
