FREEDOM RINGS 1776 is a conservative voice, defending the views of those who still believe in the constitution and opposing any and all who would lead us from our tried and true beliefs. We who still believe in the spirit of 1776 must oppose anyone who would set this nation on a course that will fundamentally transform America.

THE PIED PIPER

Theses words were first uttered by Benjamin Franklin in 1775. This man's wisdom often pierces the veil of time and outlines the future follies of mankind. Now read these words again. Note especially "troublesome changes." Recall, if you will, the problems America faced in 2008. Contrast those problems with the ones we face today. Before the elections of that year took place a pied piper appeared. He carried no magic pipe with which to attract rats; only an over worked teleprompter and a deceptive promise of change to attract the gullible and the weary, and attract them he did.

They came by the millions to pay homage to this weaver of dreams, never pausing to realize that some dreams become nightmares and in beholding failed illusions we find ruin and rubble. It has happened to other nations: France, Germany. Russia, and now it is our turn to pay the piper.

Just how much we pay depends on how quickly we can strip him of powers that he is abusing.Throughout mankind's history, people such as Barrack Obama have emerged with the power to sway the masses. What they all have in common are oratory skills and an existing crisis. Without crisis such people would attract no following. If all is generally well with society people don't want to rock the boat, but a rising wave of discontent can sweep an insignificant figure into a leadership role he is ill prepared to assume and not qualified for.

Great orators in time of crisis are not always a bad thing. Take for example: Winston Churchill. Had it not been for World War ll and the blitz of London he would not be the historic figure that he is today, but these things did occur. With their world falling apart around them the people of Britain needed a strong leader, and more than that they needed a with the words that would make them strong. Churchill accomplished just that and history is a better thing because of his inspirational messages and eventual victory.

Napoleon Bonaparte, short in stature but long on oratory skills latched onto the crisis of the French Revolution and for a short time became emperor of France; enjoying his moment of glory before being exiled to a small insignificant little rock just a bit south of nowhere. Sadly he ruined France before he was dethroned.

Another would be world conquerer, Adolph Hitler, has been proclaimed to be the greatest orator of the twentieth century and the most evil man in the history of the world. This man with the ability to sway millions with his words found an economic crisis in Germany that was ideal in his quest for power. Too many years and far too many millions of live later he was stopped by his own hand as he managed to cheat the world of justice.

Another great orator grappling with a crisis was John F. Kennedy. The crisis was American complacency and Russian determination. In secret they had managed to put a basket ball sized satellite into orbit. They beat us into space and it was a disaster. Kennedy was a man who thrived on competition and could turn adversity into triumph. Their basket ball soon burned on re-entry and we were on the way to the moon. A crisis was overcome by the words and the vision of a great leader and a great speaker. From the words he spoke and the vision he gave Americans grew a new technology that provided a better life for  the whole world and that technology is still growing. The second generation of improvements are personal computers, satellite communications, the internet, GPS and the list seems endless.

History guarantees that if a crisis arises, so will someone who knows the how to employ the power of words. Problems and orators are made for each other. The main difference in these occurrences is the outcome. Quite a few inspiring men found the words that were needed in the birth of this nation. Another great man, by name of Lincoln with a voice that inspired found the right words to keep the country together and give it new direction. The pattern endlessly repeats and there is nothing magical about it. The great speakers are always there but unless the right crisis at the right time occurs they will fade into history unknown and forgotten.

Although this coming together of people and events is inevitable the outcome is not. Had Napoleon Bonaparte been a less ambitious man he could have used his talents to remake France into a better place for his people. Hitler had the same opportunity. Were he not determined to rule and destroy, he and Germany could have found a golden age instead of destruction. George Washington was a gifted orator and had he been a lesser man he could have worn the crown of the King of America. The difference is that he, unlike Bonaparte and Hitler, was willing to serve. They wanted to rule.

Now it is our turn to deal with one of these masters of the spoken word. With his talents he convinced many Americans that he could bring Hope And Change. Change he has brought. Everything is so much worse now than it was before he assumed office. Some have already lost hope and others are hoping we survive until we can get him out of the White House. One man promised so much and has delivered nothing. It would have been better had he done nothing but his every decision seems to take us deeper into disaster than we ever thought possible.

Many of his detractors are comparing him to Hitler and Stalin but he is like neither. They wanted to rule with an iron fist and spread their empire. Obama has no such aspirations about conquest, in fact he seems determined to give away everything we have and destroy this nation out of his hatred for capitalism.

His every move causes harm to this nation that is easy to prove: Cap and Trade ostensibly will save the earth from global warming, which has already been exposed as a money making plot of unbelievable proportion Cap the amount of carbon to today's levels. All nations get carbon credits. Industrial nations will need more than they get. Non industrial nations can sell their credits to them. This is a massive redistribution of wealth. America buying carbon credits from third world nations will destroy capitalism and temporary help the corrupt leaders of  those 3rd world nations The BEAUTY of the whole thing is the bank that manages the sales makes a killing. Obama's friends own the bank.

"As much money can be made from a civilization's destruction as from its rise.": Rhett Butler to Scarlett Ohara...GONE WITH THE WIND.

I first read those words when I was sixteen but never could I have imagined that anyone would ever think of applying such a principal to the United States. When I read "Gone With The Wind"  I was entertained and educated by the words and extensive research of Margaret Mitchell. As I witness what is happening to our country I am convinced that Obama read it and I fear, he was inspired.
